Post Critics Choice, SAG and the Globes

I have made some updates now after the Critics Choice, SAG and Globe noms. I am still not convinced with Les Miserables. It will probably make it to best picture race and many more, but it is still a musical that has been done so many times. I am not convinced with Hugh Jackman and instead of him I thinking maybe Richard Gere. With the director category there are so many great directors available and I am not seeing Tom Hooper in at the moment. Instead I hear Django Unchained rising. Quentin might be getting in and there is a best picture spot for Django as well.

With the leading ladies any changes cannot be made at the moment. The race is still so open. Besides this is usually the category with surprises. Naomi Watts could be in and so could be Helen Mirren but who to drop?

With the supporting ladies I added Nicole Kidman but she could be Maggie Smith as well. And my list of the supporting actors needs no changes. With Django rising Leo will beat Javier Bardem. I don't have anything against Bond movies but the academy might be skeptic.

The Globes

The Globes are here. Django has arrived with Leo and Christoph Waltz. Helen Mirren and Naomi Watts are here again and so is Nicole Kidman in supporting.

The week of the weeks

Here were are dealing with the most important week of the year. This is the time where things really start to shape up. Today it is time for the Critics Choice nominations, tomorrow Screen Actors Guild on Thursday the Globes.

I have made some additions especially with the best picture category. With Les Miserables I still have to see how it will do this week. I will probably have to add it but I need a few more days. The best director category will shape up later this week with the best picture as well.

With best actors I have not made any changes and I am still keeping one spot open. Then there is the very crowded category of best actress; there is no room for everyone. I had to drop Keira Knightley and Helen Mirren but they can be in of course later this week. Jessica Chastain and Emmanuelle Riva are in.

No changes with the supporting categories either. In addition with supporting actress I still have one spot open.

Later today we might have something confirmed and at the end of the we can be dazed and confused or very certain, but everything can change in a couple of weeks. You never know what kind of year you are dealing with.
